In November 2014, Sgt. Shawn Glans was recorded on video slapping a 20-year-old man, Colin Fitch, and attempting to search his vehicle without a warrant. The video, which included profane language from Glans, led to his resignation from the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with official misconduct, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation. The incident occurred in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart store in Halfmoon, New York.
