In January 2022, Sgt. Wayne Griffin, who served as interim police chief, was terminated for violating policies against making false statements and engaging in harassment. An investigation initiated in October 2021 sustained a sexual harassment complaint against him. Griffin was placed on leave during the investigation and subsequently demoted before his termination. He has filed an appeal against his dismissal.
