In 2015, under Sheriff Williamson’s leadership, Deputy Collier conducted a warrantless search of a property, leading to a federal indictment that was later dismissed due to Fourth Amendment violations. Additionally, in 2020, a lawsuit was filed against Sheriff Williamson alleging false arrest and imprisonment resulting from an inaccurate NCIC check, leading to an 18-day detention of an individual. The court dismissed the state-law claims against Williamson, citing state-law immunity.
