Specifically, after deputies reported that Chief Deputy Brandon Bryan had illegally sold seized vehicles, Pineiroa allegedly removed them from their DEA task force assignments and restricted their overtime opportunities. These actions led to a whistleblower lawsuit and subsequent criminal charges against Pineiroa.
