In May 2017, former jailer Dorothy Thomas filed a federal lawsuit against Sheriff Raymond Rogers, alleging that he made inappropriate sexual comments toward her. Thomas was terminated in November 2015 over a contraband issue involving a county jail inmate. The lawsuit also named the Bullock County Commission for not providing due process and an employee policy handbook upon her hiring in 2006. As of the report, a hearing on the lawsuit had not been scheduled.
