In February 2018, former veteran correctional officer Teddy Hancock was accused of sexual misconduct with female inmates at the Chambers County Detention Facility. The allegations surfaced when a female inmate and her attorney reported the incidents. Hancock was terminated from his position and arrested on felony charges of custodial sexual misconduct. He was released on bond pending further legal proceedings.
