Former Sheriff Thomas Rodella was convicted in 2014 of violating a motorist’s civil rights and brandishing a firearm during a road rage incident. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Rodella had a history of misconduct, including disciplinary actions for marijuana use, improper use of a weapon, and falsifying official reports during his tenure with the New Mexico State Police.
