On November 26, 2010, Deputy Timothy Andrew Watford, along with another officer, assaulted a handcuffed man, Patrick Harrington, who was lying on the ground and not resisting. The assault included punching, kicking, and slapping, resulting in multiple lacerations, facial fractures, and a ruptured eardrum for Harrington. Watford was convicted on September 2, 2011, for willfully depriving Harrington of his constitutional rights and faced a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
