In 2017, then-Sgt. Timothy Brennan failed to report allegations of sexual assault made by an adult victim against Deputy Police Chief John Porter, violating department policies. Brennan was terminated in February 2024 for this failure. In July 2024, he was hired by the Milford Police Department. In October 2024, the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission reinstated Brennan’s certification, citing insufficient evidence of ongoing risk to public safety.
