In August 2022, Detective Timothy Hammond falsely implicated Mack Blackie in a break-in, leading to Blackie’s wrongful arrest and 31-day incarceration. Hammond failed to conduct a proper photo lineup and submitted false affidavits. Blackie has since filed a civil rights lawsuit against the city and Hammond.
