In 2019, former deputy Timothy Rock was found guilty on 18 of 28 counts related to falsifying documents while working with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office’s Street Crimes and Drug Unit (SCAD) in 2016. Rock was accused of falsifying, altering, and/or modifying documentation of various payments to confidential informants. Testimonies during the trial revealed that Rock provided heroin to informants instead of monetary payments and instructed them to sign blank vouchers. Additionally, Rock failed to properly document controlled buys and mismanaged informant payments, leading to significant discrepancies in the unit’s financial records.
