In October 2013, Lt. Tom Davidson was involved in an incident where he shoved Nicholas Kincade, a man in a motorized wheelchair, causing him to fall out of his chair. The confrontation led to a lawsuit alleging violations of constitutional rights and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Davidson was suspended and demoted to officer following the incident, although police command staff had recommended his termination. The lawsuit was settled in May 2015 for an undisclosed amount.
