Deputy Gaskins was involved in a 2006 lawsuit where plaintiffs alleged he failed to respond promptly to a dangerous dog complaint, resulting in serious injuries to an eight-year-old child. The complaint stated that Gaskins chose to attend to personal matters before arriving at the scene, by which time the child had already been taken to the hospital.
