In 2023, Travis Crabtree, serving as Jailer, was named in a lawsuit alleging violation of the Fourteenth Amendment under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, negligence, and other claims. The lawsuit was filed by an individual who alleged that Crabtree, along with other county officials, contributed to the denial of medical care while the plaintiff was detained. The court dismissed some claims against Crabtree in his official capacity but allowed others to proceed.
