Former Detective Troy Allen Large was accused of sexually assaulting multiple women whose cases he was assigned to investigate. He allegedly pressured victims to participate in nude ‘catfight’ videos and engaged in non-consensual sexual acts. In July 2015, following internal investigations, Large was terminated for sexual harassment. He was later indicted on five counts of criminal sexual conduct and six counts of misconduct in office. Multiple lawsuits were filed against him and the Horry County Police Department, resulting in settlements and a jury awarding $500,000 in damages to one victim.
