In January 2021, Corporal Tyler Whitely was accused of sexually harassing a female deputy by making inappropriate remarks, including discussing a dream where they woke up together in a Las Vegas hotel room. An internal investigation led to his demotion to patrol deputy in June 2021. Whitely resigned on January 3, 2023, during an unrelated personnel investigation. The county paid $175,000 to the former deputy to settle the harassment claim.
