In 2017, an unnamed campus security officer confronted Massoud Mortazavi while he was practicing piano at Samford University. The officer used threatening and offensive language, detained Mortazavi for approximately thirty minutes, and discussed terrorism in a manner that Mortazavi found intimidating. The officer’s name was not disclosed in the legal proceedings.
