The complaint detailed that male inmates groped female deputies and masturbated in front of them, behavior stemming from a lack of protective structures for the women during their workday. The lawsuit highlighted severe misconduct and the department’s failure to safeguard its employees.

In June 2023, a SWAT team mistakenly raided the wrong Denver apartment, traumatizing a family with two young daughters. The operation resulted in the family requiring intensive therapy to overcome the trauma. A lawsuit was filed alleging constitutional rights violations and excessive force by at least 10 officers involved in the incident.
