In March 2021, a former deputy sheriff filed a proposed collective action lawsuit alleging that Faulkner County failed to pay him and other deputies for off-the-clock work. The lawsuit claims that deputies were required to attend meetings outside of scheduled shifts, don and doff equipment, and complete paperwork without compensation. The plaintiff alleges that these practices resulted in unpaid regular wages and overtime compensation, violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.
