In July 2018, an unnamed female officer left a harassing voicemail for Canadian citizen Brody Stuart-Verner, who had called the department with concerns about a viral video showing Officer Bernot using a Taser on Sean Williams. The voicemail included derogatory remarks and told Stuart-Verner to ‘stay in your country.’ The officer was suspended without pay for an unspecified duration. Stuart-Verner and his attorney demanded the officer be permanently removed from her position, citing unfitness to carry a gun and perform law enforcement duties.
