In September 2019, a male correctional officer was placed on paid administrative leave following allegations of sexually assaulting a female officer while both were on duty at the Barnes County Jail. The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted an investigation into the incident. No charges had been filed at the time of reporting.
