In 2013, a veteran officer with the Cocopah Tribal Police Department was dismissed for allegedly selling department ammunition over the Internet. The officer, who had been with the department for nearly ten years, was placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation and later dismissed from the force once it was completed. The case was forwarded to the FBI for further criminal investigation and evaluation of possible charges.
