    In May 2024, two officers from the Preston County Sheriff’s Department were involved in a property dispute between neighbors. Initially, they correctly informed one neighbor that they couldn’t arrest the other over a car allegedly parked on his property. However, they later proceeded to arrest the individual without proper justification, violating Fourth Amendment rights. Body camera footage revealed the officers’ actions, leading to a lawsuit being filed against them.
