In April 2018, multiple Bristol Police Officers, including Jason Kasperian, Mark Kichar, and others, were involved in an incident where a suspect alleged excessive force during an arrest. The suspect claimed that after being pulled from a vehicle, Officer Kichar fired a taser at him, Officer Podlesney struck him with a police vehicle, and multiple officers assaulted him while he was restrained and not resisting. The suspect experienced a seizure and was taken to the hospital. A lawsuit was filed alleging illegal search and seizure, excessive force, and deliberate indifference to medical needs. The court reviewed these allegations in 2023.
