    In September 2023, a patrol deputy was terminated for deceiving the sheriff’s office during the hiring process. The deputy had resigned from a previous agency to avoid being fired for insubordination but failed to disclose this information. Upon discovery, the sheriff’s office reported the deception to the Criminal Justice Training Academy to prevent future law enforcement employment in Washington.
