In 2011, Corporal Ventura Salas was placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation by the Rio Rancho Police Department. The specific allegations were not disclosed at the time. Previously, in 2007, Salas faced charges of window peeping and disorderly conduct after his wife reported him for peeping into a neighbor’s window. These charges were later dismissed in Rio Rancho Municipal Court. Salas had been with the Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office for a little over a year at that time.
