NYPD Officer arrested in April 2018 in Manhattan for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. The case was sealed, but NYPD disciplinary findings determined he committed the assault. His penalties included mandated counseling, a term of dismissal probation, and loss of several suspension days. Cruz was not terminated and is back on full duty at the 44th Precinct.
