In September 2024, Officer William ‘BJ’ Squires was investigated for allegations of sexual misconduct involving underage girls. A search warrant was executed at his home, leading to his suspension and subsequent termination in October 2024 for violating departmental policies. In November 2024, a Mobile County grand jury indicted Squires on charges including first-degree rape by force, second-degree rape of a victim aged 12 to 16, and sexual abuse by force. The allegations date back to 2009, with previous complaints not resulting in charges at that time. The investigation is ongoing, and Squires’ bond was set at $110,000.
