In June 2023, retired officer William Maisano sent a threatening email to Guilford High School’s principal, objecting to a teacher’s Pride-colored hairstyle at graduation. He warned of ‘hell to pay’ if the teacher displayed her ‘personal politics and sexual preferences’ during the event. Maisano was arrested and charged with breach of peace and threatening. In October 2024, he was convicted on these charges and awaited sentencing.
