In 2020, Officer Zachary Pigeon was arrested and charged with kidnapping, unlawful restraint, obstruction of justice, burglary, and simple assault. He was arraigned on additional charges of sexual assault and aggravated sexual assault. Pigeon was placed on administrative leave, and the charges were later dropped. He resigned from the department during the investigation.
