In 2017, Officer Durden was involved in the fatal shooting of Ismael Lopez after officers mistakenly approached the wrong residence while serving a warrant. Durden fired multiple shots during the incident. A grand jury declined to indict him, and a federal court later found him not liable for violating Lopez’s Fourth Amendment rights.
