In May 2021, Deputy Zackary King was involved in an incident in Dyer, Arkansas, where he allegedly used excessive force against 65-year-old Polly Risenhoover. King reportedly tackled Risenhoover to the ground and continually beat her, resulting in injuries requiring ongoing medical treatment. Risenhoover filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against King, alleging violations of her Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment rights, as well as negligence, battery, and assault. On August 21, 2022, Deputy Zackary King participated in the violent arrest of Randal Worcester in Mulberry, Arkansas. A bystander video captured King striking Worcester multiple times while he was restrained. King pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of deprivation of rights under color of law and was sentenced to one year in prison, with credit for any time served in federal custody.
