In July 2020, Sergeant Gavin Larremore made a social media post referring to Black Lives Matter protesters as a ‘mob of thugs’ and criticized a city-sanctioned mural. An internal investigation found him in violation of TPD’s rules of conduct and social media policies. As a result, Larremore was suspended for 80 hours without pay, demoted, and required to undergo counseling.
