Gerald Antinoro – Storey County Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff Gerald Antinoro has faced multiple allegations of misconduct during his tenure. In 2015, former Chief Deputy Melanie Keener accused him of sexual harassment, alleging he sent sexually suggestive text messages and shared explicit details of his sex life during a work trip. Keener filed a lawsuit in 2017, which was settled in 2018 for $250,000, with the county paying $80,000 and the Nevada Public Agency Insurance Pool covering the remaining $170,000. Additionally, Antinoro faced an ethics complaint in 2017 for using his office to host a private family matter, leading to a potential $8,000 fine. He has also been the subject of at least ten complaints, including sexual harassment and discrimination, since taking office in 2010.
