Gregg Bigda – Springfield Police Department

In 2016, Officer Gregg Bigda was accused of assaulting and threatening two juvenile suspects after they allegedly stole an unmarked police cruiser. He was suspended indefinitely without pay in 2018. In 2021, Bigda was acquitted on federal excessive force charges and civil rights violations. Despite the acquittal, he remains on paid leave and has filed a lawsuit seeking reinstatement to the force.
