In February 2022, Officer Roldan was arrested on charges of second-degree sexual abuse and enticing a child. The investigation was unrelated to his role at the university, and he was placed on administrative leave pending further investigation. He was booked into the Madison County Jail on a $3,000 bond and released the following day.
