Officer James Burke was charged with manslaughter following a fatal crash on September 30, 2024, that resulted in the deaths of Cedric Hayden Jr. and DeJuan Pettis. Burke’s patrol car collided with a Dodge Durango at high speed at an intersection around 5 a.m. He was injured in the crash along with another officer.
