In May 2021, Deputy James C. Trahan was arrested and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile. He was terminated from his position as a correctional officer at the Calcasieu Correctional Center, where he had served for approximately 15 years. Sheriff Tony Mancuso expressed deep concern over the incident, emphasizing that criminal activity would not be tolerated within the department.
