In December 2020, Sheriff Jeremy Floyd was indicted for embezzlement and perjury. He was accused of embezzling $1,132.78 in March 2018 by purchasing an airline ticket for his wife using county funds. Additionally, he was charged with perjury for falsely declaring under oath that he had not been arrested for embezzlement on his candidacy declaration. Floyd was arrested and held on a $50,000 bond.
