Jeremy Walleman – Sterling Heights Police Department

In April 2019, Officer Jeremy Walleman arrested 18-year-old Logan Davis for loitering outside a closed business. Davis, who had just finished his shift at Firehouse Subs and was waiting for his father, refused to provide identification upon Walleman’s request. The encounter escalated, leading to Davis being tackled and placed in a chokehold. Charges against Davis were later dropped, and the city settled a federal lawsuit with Davis for $265,000. Walleman was disciplined for failing to activate his microphone during the incident and was required to complete de-escalation training.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
