Jim Raymond – Franklin County Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff Jim Raymond was accused of retaliating against Franklin County Auditor’s Office employees Jeff Burckhard and Timothy Anderson for denying financial claims that did not comply with county regulations. The retaliation included public defamation and false accusations of criminal activity. In February 2025, a Walla Walla Superior Court judge ordered Franklin County to pay over $26,000 in damages, filing costs, and attorney’s fees to the affected employees.
