John Stevens – Cascade County Sheriff’s Office

Former Undersheriff John Stevens was charged with felony theft in March 2019 for taking firearms purchased by the county upon his retirement. An internal audit uncovered that Stevens had improperly retained several firearms without authorization or reimbursement. In July 2019, Stevens entered a no-contest plea to a reduced misdemeanor theft charge and was sentenced to one-year probation.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
