In 2023, Officer John Tyler Harvey of the Narcotics Investigation Unit was found guilty of violating his oath of office. An investigation revealed that Harvey allowed a confidential informant to sell large quantities of methamphetamine to pay off a debt, without any controlled measures or subsequent arrests. He was sentenced to a five-year probated sentence, required to relinquish his POST Certification, and prohibited from holding any public trust position during his sentence.
