In January 2013, Officer Jon Wantz was arrested alongside Officer Troy Guidry for stealing a tractor valued at $25,000 from a local plumbing store. He faced charges including theft by taking, criminal trespass, and violation of his oath of office. Following the incident, Wantz resigned from the Macon Police Department.
