Joseph Mailet – West Haven Police Department

In 1978, Officer Joseph Mailet was named in a lawsuit by Thomas Turpin, who alleged that Mailet and other officers engaged in concerted behavior that violated his civil rights. The case claimed that the West Haven Police Department had an implicit policy of encouraging harassment against Turpin. The court found the allegations sufficient to state a cause of action, leading to further proceedings.
