Justin Ortis – Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office

Deputy Justin Ortis was involved in the 2014 death of Victor White III, who allegedly shot himself while handcuffed in the back of a patrol car. The incident led to a federal lawsuit against Ortis and Sheriff Louis Ackal. A settlement was reached in 2018, though the terms were not disclosed.
