In July 1994, Officer Kenneth Falcone admitted to perjury in 50 traffic court cases and to taking marijuana from the police evidence locker. He was one of the officers charged with unlawful mischief after firing a gun in a store owned by a vocal police critic. Falcone became a state’s witness but was arrested for failing to appear in court to testify against Northfield Police Chief Michael O’Neill and failed a polygraph test, leading the defense to question his testimony.
