Kevin Jones – Lakewood Police Department

In November 2016, Officer Kevin Jones, while working off-duty at the Lakewood Public Library, confronted a 17-year-old girl for having her feet on a chair. Despite her compliance, Jones escalated the situation, forcibly removing her from the library, during which he pushed her into a book cart and fell on top of her, resulting in a dislocated jaw. The incident led to a lawsuit alleging excessive force and failure to provide medical aid. Jones received a 40-hour unpaid suspension, was referred to the employee assistance program, and was denied permission to work off-duty at the library. Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Violation of these rules will result in immediate content removal and possible account suspension.

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
