Linda Beck – Haleyville Police Department

In 1998, Officer Linda Beck was involved in multiple incidents leading to her non-rehire. She threatened to kill a private citizen, Henry Clapper, during an on-duty encounter. Beck also faced allegations of falsifying time sheets, spending excessive time at garage sales while on duty, and leaving purchases in patrol cars. Additionally, she was reported for obtaining absentee ballots for individuals and calling in sick to receive personal deliveries. Supervisors described her as unprofessional, careless, inattentive, and insubordinate. Consequently, Chief Reogas determined she was not qualified for continued employment as a law enforcement officer.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
