In March 2022, Officer Mark McNamara shot K’aun Green, a Black college athlete, four times during a taqueria incident. Subsequent investigations revealed McNamara sent racist text messages about the shooting, including ‘I hate Black people.’ He resigned in November 2023 following the exposure of these messages.
